Analysis of Physical Chemical and Biological Parameters in Handayani 2 Clean Water in Kalisoro Village

Abstract

Water is a basic necessity for life, but its quality is often threatened by human activities. This study aims to analyze the quality of clean water in the distribution area of Handayani 2, Kalisoro Village, Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency. Testing includes physical, chemical, and biological parameters according to quality standards in Permenkes No. 2 of 2023. The results show that physically and chemically, water meets the set quality standards. However, biological parameters showed the presence of E. coli bacteria and Total Coliform above the threshold, which was 8 CFU/100 ml. This indicates the existence of microbiological pollution that has the potential to endanger public health. The main causes include poor waste disposal systems and inadequate sanitation practices. Recommendations to address this problem include improving sanitation systems, protecting water sources, educating the community, and monitoring water quality regularly.
