Peer Review Process
JLN applies double-anonymous peer review. The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other during review as far as the submitted files and editorial workflow allow.
- Initial screening. The editor checks scope, completeness, originality indicators, ethical concerns, and basic scholarly quality.
- Reviewer assignment. Manuscripts that pass screening are assigned to reviewers with relevant expertise and without known conflicts of interest.
- Independent assessment. Reviewers assess originality, methods, evidence, clarity, ethical compliance, and contribution, and submit a recommendation with reasons.
- Editorial decision. The editor considers the reviews and decides to decline, request revision, accept, or seek additional review. Reviewer recommendations inform but do not replace the editor's decision.
- Revision and verification. Authors should respond point by point. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers when necessary.
Acceptance is based on scholarly merit and compliance with journal requirements. Payment of publication charges, editing assistance, or contact with the journal does not guarantee acceptance.
