Focus and Scope

Jurnal Lingkungan Nusantara (JLN) is a scientific journal published twice a year (in February and July) by Jantoscv. The journal accepts and publishes scientific articles, including original research articles, reviews, and critical analysis studies, without discrimination, as long as the articles meet the rigorous standards of scientific inquiry.

Unique Focus

As a distinctive feature, Jurnal Lingkungan Nusantara (JLN) prioritizes research articles conducted on the Nusantara archipelago and by researchers affiliated with institutions across the region. Each issue includes works authored by contributors from Nusantara. However, submissions from researchers outside the region are also encouraged, provided they contribute valuable insights into environmental science and engineering.

Scope of Topics

Jurnal Lingkungan Nusantara (JLN) publishes a wide array of scientific articles within the broad field of Environmental Science and Engineering. The journal particularly welcomes manuscripts in the following areas, but is not limited to:

  • Ecology and Conservation, including studies on biodiversity, ecosystems, habitat restoration, species conservation, and the impacts of human activity on natural environments.
  • Sustainability and Environmental Management, covering sustainable development, resource management, environmental policies, and practices that promote ecological balance and reduce environmental footprints.
  • Environmental Chemistry, focusing on the chemical processes occurring in the environment, including pollution, chemical analysis, and environmental toxicology.
  • Environmental Technology, including innovations in waste management, renewable energy technologies, environmental monitoring, and the development of eco-friendly technologies.
  • Climate Change Adaptation, addressing the challenges of global climate change, strategies for mitigation, adaptation policies, and resilience in vulnerable regions.
  • Water Resources Management, including the study of hydrology, water quality, watershed management, and the impacts of water use and climate change on water resources.
  • Air Quality and Pollution Control, focusing on the study and management of air pollution, emission reduction technologies, and the impacts of air quality on human health and ecosystems.
  • Sustainable Agriculture and Land Use, covering topics such as sustainable farming practices, soil conservation, agroforestry, and the impact of agriculture on the environment.
  • Urban Environmental Studies, exploring the interaction between urban development and the environment, including green infrastructure, urban ecology, and sustainable urban planning.

Broader Contributions

Beyond these specific areas, Jurnal Lingkungan Nusantara (JLN) is also open to publishing interdisciplinary research that integrates multiple aspects of environmental science and engineering. This includes:

  • Development and validation of environmental assessment methods for air, water, soil, and biological monitoring.
  • Innovations in environmental education, including new approaches to teaching and training in environmental sciences.
  • Case studies on the implementation of environmental technologies and policies, especially in developing regions.
  • Social and economic studies related to environmental impact, such as community-based conservation efforts, environmental justice, and the economics of environmental sustainability.

Jurnal Lingkungan Nusantara (JLN) remains committed to advancing knowledge in environmental science and engineering, fostering a deeper understanding of the critical issues facing the natural world, and promoting solutions that contribute to a sustainable future.
