Analysis of Drinking Water Quality in One of the Spings in Umbul Songo, Kopeng, Semarang District

Abstract

Springs have a very crucial role for rural communities, especially for those who depend on clean water sources from nature. One example is Umbul Songo Spring, which is the main source of water needs for residents in Getasan Subdistrict, Semarang Regency.The purpose of the research conducted was to determine the quality of spring water at point A of Umbul Songo in terms of physical parameters, chemical parameters, and biological parameters based on Permenkes No. 2 of 2023 concerning the Implementation of Government Regulation Number 66 of 2014 concerning Environmental Health. The research location is Kopeng Village, Getasan Subdistrict, Semarang Regency, Central Java with one of the nine springs in the area, located at coordinates S07°24.186' E110°25.315'. This study used comparative descriptive analysis, which compares the parameters of laboratory test results with applicable quality standards. The results of the water quality analysis at one of the Umbul Songo springs at point A show that the physical parameters and chemical parameters of the water have met the drinking water quality standards set. However, the results of the analysis on biological parameters are not yet in accordance with the applicable drinking water quality standards, namely Total Coliform.
