Abstract

This design study examines administrative paper waste accumulation at PT SUCOFINDO UP Kelanis and determines the required capacity and target specifications of a proposed paper waste cutting device. The design inputs used in the manuscript are an average paper waste load of 15 kg/day and 7 effective operating hours/day, corresponding to a minimum processing capacity of approximately 2.14 kg/hour. A nominal design capacity of 5 kg/hour is proposed to provide operating margin and reduce processing queues. A 70% reduction is treated as a target reduction in waste volume after cutting, not a loss of paper mass. The proposed device remains a design model and has not been reported as a built or experimentally tested prototype. The target cutting specification should therefore be validated through prototype development, dimensional measurements, operational tests, and occupational-safety assessment before implementation.
