This study presents the design of a tofu wastewater treatment system using phytoremediation with water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes). Based on a design flow of 1.0575 m³/day and a hydraulic retention time of 5 days, the required effective pond volume is 5.29 m³. Primary laboratory data reported BOD values of 122.7 mg/L before treatment and 18.4 mg/L after treatment, COD values of 117.45 mg/L and 23.5 mg/L, and TSS values of 38 mg/L and 3.8 mg/L, corresponding to reported reductions of 85%, 80%, and 90%. These concentrations were evaluated against the national wastewater quality standard for tofu processing in Regulation of the Minister of Environment No. 5 of 2014, Appendix XVIII. Because details of the laboratory method, sampling, and replication were not available in the manuscript, the results should be interpreted as preliminary design inputs rather than full performance validation.
